A well-defined jawline is essential to maintaining a youthful appearance. It can represent strength in men and signal a certain feminine refinement in women.

But sadly, this doesn’t last forever. The effects of ageing – and gravity – can eventually erode this sculpted and rather photogenic look. Why? Because, firstly, over time, we lose bone in the lower jaw.

This, combined with the descent of the facial fat pads and the attachment of the mandibular ligament, can result in jowl formation.

And while this traditionally affects older patients, these days we’re seeing more and more thirtysomethings with a genetic predisposition to developing them.

However, we can offer a simple process of volume restoration by targeting the correct areas using a subtle injection of filler to help to camouflage them and restore the appearance of a straighter, more aesthetically pleasing jawline.

How effective are fillers for jowl reduction?
Very effective. They are currently one of the leading choices for jowl reduction because of their effectiveness in rebuilding the structure of the face whilst helping to boost the skin’s natural supply of hyaluronic acid which helps to smooth the jawline.

What does the treatment involve?
Fillers are injected to camouflage the jowl area and augment the definition of the jawline. The key here lies in the precision of the filler placement, a skill for which Dr Joshua, with his emphasis on the most subtle of treatments, is well-known.
